Summer's Over.

It seems like we just got started on summer and all of a sudden we are starting school. I had every intention of being really good at this blogging thing over the summer, of taking pictures of the fun things that I did with the kids and sharing the books I was reading with you. And I did NOTHING, nothing at all. I think it has been 2 months without a blog at all. So here is a quick rundown of what we did and didn't do. And by quick, I'm not kidding.

Reading - I read a lot. 7 books on the American Revolution, 3 on the Declaration of Independence, 5 on the Navajo Code Talkers, 3 on the Great Depression, 3 books by Louisa May Alcott, The Scarlet Pimpernell, Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensability, as well as umpteen quick reading chick lit books. They were fun, I enjoyed it.

Summer "school" ~ DH totally got into the science thing. He had a blast going through the books with AJ and picking out experaments. The favorite was using baking soda and vinegar to blow up a balloon, and pickling an egg.

Family ~ DH had surgery on both hands/wrists within 3 weeks of eachother, so a lot of time was spent taking care of him and entertaining him when he got bored.

Trips ~ We took a couple of trips to see family and they were a ton of fun. The sad part was that we had to cancel our family trip to the CA beach because DH wasn't healed enough yet.

So that's about it, it was fun, I enjoyed it, but I am ready to get back into the swing of things.

  1. Sounds like a fun summer - too bad about the beach trip though... maybe next year! It was good to meet your little ones!
